The Project Engineer Trainee (PET) assists the overall department goals of the Technical Operations team.  This includes administrative, technical, and logistical tasks.  This position works under the general supervision of the Technical Operations Department Manager.  The PET assists in completion of tasks involved in permitting, scheduling, purchasing, project start up, document flow, meeting minutes, logistical requirements, submittals, quality assurance, quality control, and overall issue tracking.

The Role

  • Assists Tech Ops Manager in all administration functions, processes, and workflows;
  • Assists Project Engineers, and Field Engineers as required on a per project basis; to include submittals, QA/QC of submittals, procurement plans, and other administration functions consistent with company policies and standards;
  • Develops and maintains a list of contact information for vendors to include material procurement and subcontracting;
  • Supports the development of submittal packages in accordance with contract requirements to include but not limited to O&M manuals, testing procedures, testing results, and warranty information;
  • Maintains expertise and proficiency on systems endorsed by Evergreen; 
  • Works with Project and Field Engineers to develop system programming and troubleshooting skills.  This includes programming a brand new standalone system, adding components to an existing system, or some combination of both;
  • Works with Project and Field Engineers to develop an understanding of project documents to include PWS, installation schedule, drawings, proposals, and specifications to ensure the job is being installed correctly and on schedule;
  • Works with Project and Field Engineers to develop an understanding how to trim/wire up security/fire sensors and devices in accordance with manufacturer requirements to include correct resistance, diodes, surge protection, etc.;
  • Organizes and implements formulated policies and procedures;
  • Monitors and maintains submittal registry for Engineers to ensure submittals are being completed on time.  Keeps submittal registry up to date by collaborating with project team;
  • Maintains files, tracking logs, reports, spreadsheets, and special projects;
  • Assists project team with procurement and tracking of materials;
  • Assists with tasks associated with jobsite mobilization;
  • Ensures department compliance with Safety and Security Weekly Toolbox tips;
  • Maintains team calendars to include training and travel arrangements;
  • Performs logistical requirements for shipping/receiving material;
  • Maintains PITCO inventory and assists as required with JBLM warehouse activities; and
  • Performs necessary roles as “Freight Coordinator” to ensure cost effective freight shipping.

  • Valid enhanced driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and continuing random background, drug and MVR screenings

Pay range is $50,000 - $65,000 for well-qualified candidates.
