CAFETERIA MONITOR
LOCATION: Fisher's Landing Elementary
REPORTS TO: Principal
DEPARTMENT: Elementary / Secondary
Hours / Work Times
2.0 Hours Per Day (11:25 a.m. - 1:25 p.m.)
2.0 Hours Early Release Days (11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.)
190 Days Per Year (180 student days/10 holidays)
A valid First Aid/CPR card must be submitted to Classified Personnel within 30 days of hire. Only courses with a "hands-on" component taught by a certified instructor are acceptable.
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 09/13/2022.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Cafeteria Monitor is responsible for supervising and monitoring students in the cafeteria as well as when they enter and leave the cafeteria area. The Cafeteria Monitor may also be required to supervise students outside during recess.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Supervise and monitor students as they enter and leave the cafeteria.
- Maintain order and flow of student traffic.
- Enforce cafeteria rules and procedures.
- Carry out discipline procedures as defined by the building principal.
- Insure safety and security in designated area.
- Perform first aid/CPR when necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform playground duties when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY:
Whistle and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions as listed above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply techniques in working with students in the area of behavior management.
- Must possess a current First Aid/CPR card, or be able to acquire within 30 days.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
