Medical Assistant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice in support of the Health Services office. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform PMP medication look up for patients on schedule
  • Data entry to support department needs
  • Process and track nurse practitioner outside medical referrals and follow ups for additional appointments
  • Document patient services and case notes in electronic health record and complete clinical documents and reports as delegated
  • Complete all mandatory employee online and in-person training
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Strong aptitude for detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with chemically dependent individuals with care and compassion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program, Certified with Washington State Department of Health
  • Able to function in an office environment, including typing/keyboarding; familiar with Microsoft Word, Office, and Outlook
  • Valid WA State Driver's License, acceptable driving record and be able to operate a company vehicle without restriction
