Position: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Sacramento, CA
Job Description:
- This is an AFSCME bargaining unit.
- Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists. Subject patients to radiation. Execute blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques.
Required certifications:
- BLS, ARRT R and/or CT, ARRT N and/or NMTCB
Required Skills Experience:
- Minimum experience required - 2 years and some in a teaching hospital.
Preferred Skills Experience:
- Siemens, PET
- Performs the full range of basic diagnostic radiologic procedures and performs the advanced level diagnostic procedures in Computed Tomography (CT).
- First time travellers OK!
Patient Population:
- Adolescents, Adults
- RTO must be on submittal and cannot be changed once sent to UCI for review
- No more than 7 days of RTO in a 13-week contract is highly preferred
- No RTO during the first 2 weeks of assignment
COVID Requirement:
- Traveller must be fully vaccinated.
