Title : Prep-Cook
Work Status : Non-Exempt / Hourly
Reports to : Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef
Position Summary : Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
Essential Functions : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Prepare work stations and ingredients for chefs according to instructions
- Maintain a clean kitchen space for other kitchen staff
- Prepare simple items including salads, sauces, some entrees
- Comply with kitchen health and sanitation guidelines
- Refer to daily prep list under Chefs guidelines
- Inform the Chef immediately of product shortages
Key Requirements :
- Experience working as a prep cook or in a similar capacity
- Great communication skills
- Good at working under pressure
- Good team attitude
Qualifications :
- Ability to read and follow prep list
- Proficient knife-handling skills
- Available to work flexible shifts
