The Sr. Cloud Platform engineer is responsible for the development, implementation and support of complex platforms related to Eversource's' Azure Cloud and DevOps presence. Ideal candidate will have a background focused on Cloud scripting and automation with a focus on end user consumption. Essential Functions: - The Azure Cloud Engineer will work closely with the architecture, provisioning, and operations teams to design and implement Azure hybrid cloud and cloud native solutions utilizing commercial infrastructure, platform, and software as a service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) offerings. - Responsible for the development of reference architecture with a strong focus on the implementation and development of defined solutions. - Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations - Utilize native Azure services to meet the firm's technology and resiliency requirements - Drive Identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for Azure - Lead design process for network connectivity to Azure - Design, coordinate and execute proof of concepts and deployments. - Interfaces significantly with other developers and teams to clarify questions related to DevOps, process and core technologies. Required Skills, Experience and Education - Minimum of five years in a cloud engineering role or related experience working with technology or application solutions, including experience in architecture, design, implementation, support, and management of the technologies appropriate for the specific positions. - 3 years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS - Microsoft Azure Certification (MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent) - Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal - Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure - Experience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services - Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Enterprise software products and services - Strong Proficiency in services offered by Microsoft Azure including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. - Strong experience on JSON ARM/Bicep templates, PowerShell or Python, and Desired State Configuration/Ansible/Chef. - Experience on monitoring tools like Log Analytics and AppInsights. - Experience on Azure Security, High Availability, Scalability and performance management - Continuous integration, Continuous Delivery and deployment in AzDevOps/Github includes Build and Release pipelines - Expert level knowledge on Git version control Merging and Branching strategies. Education: - Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required - Advanced degree is a plus Working Conditions: - Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required. - Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. - Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing and typing. Work involves using a computer and telephone as well as personal communication. - Ability to travel within the Eversource territory.
