Summary
As a Systems Administrator/Consultant, you will be tasked with implementing and managing the Firm's technical operations, ensuring optimal performance for both the Firm and its clients. You will report to the Director of IT, Managing Partner, and the Head of the Technology Committee, and collaborate closely with Supervisors, Managers, Principals, and Partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve IT issues.
- Identify root causes and implement solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Assist internal team members and external clients by addressing IT support requests and providing training on business programs.
- Manage user access, including onboarding new hires and terminating access for exiting team members.
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems for specific offices, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.
- Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance.
- Support the development and enhancement of systems, including integration with existing systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT to develop strategies and plans to enhance client services, improve user effectiveness, and foster innovation.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and determine which new solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
- Implement and enforce all IT policies and procedures, including those related to architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Support the Firm's mission by adhering to all standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Comply with the Firm’s policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software.
- Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consultant to clients by troubleshooting and analyzing IT issues.
- Participate in office and Firm-wide initiatives.
- Pursue self-development opportunities actively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally.
- Maintain personal and professional integrity at all times.
- Be prepared for long hours, occasional weekend work, and additional on-call availability during the busy season.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Skillsets:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of four (4) years of recent experience in information technology.
- Familiarity with the latest technologies and products used in the industry.
- Experience with Windows operating systems.
- Preferred but not required: experience with Citrix and/or SQL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for gathering information and explaining complex technical concepts simply.
- Keen on observational skills to identify potential problems early.
- Excellent customer service skills for professional and positive interactions with team members and clients.
Required Skills:
- Administered and maintained Windows Server and Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implemented and managed virtualized environments using VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Configured and managed network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitored system performance and security using tools like Nagios and Wireshark, promptly identifying and resolving issues.
- Administered Active Directory, including user management, group policy configuration, and domain controller maintenance.
- Implemented and managed cloud services on Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Performed regular backups and disaster recovery procedures using Veeam Backup & Replication and Symantec Backup Exec.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects, such as server migrations and network upgrades.
- Provided technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Installed, configured, and maintained desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assisted in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Conducted regular software updates and patches to ensure system security and stability.
- Assisted in the setup and maintenance of video conferencing systems and audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations.
- Provided technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other IT staff.
