Title: Permit Coordinator
Location(s): Lansing, MI or Detroit, MI
Position Summary:
Everstream is currently seeking a construction Network Planning Associate (Permit Coordinator) specializing in commercial and residential utility construction projects in the (location) market. This position reports to the Manager, OSP.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation and submission of packages for permit and license applications, including requests for site plans, Notice of Commencement, Certificate of Insurance, bonds and permitting fees.
- Serve as point of contact between field engineering vendor and permitting entity.
- Upload pertinent documents and status updates to permit database.
- Schedule permit packet submission or pick up as necessary.
- Work closely with functional partners (Sales, Outside Plant, Accounting) in project meetings, as well as via email and phone.
- Maintain permitting reports and distribute updates in a timely manner.
- Foster and maintain relationships with municipalities in respective market, act as liaison between Everstream and community.
Requirements:
- MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of plans and blueprints
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Attention to detail.
- Full-spectrum knowledge of the permitting process.
- Knowledge of County property search and mapping system
- Working knowledge of relevant county and municipal building codes.
- Ability to manage and schedule multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships.
- Working knowledge of relevant county and municipal building codes
- Familiar with any of the following software programs is a plus:
Google Earth, Nexus, SPANS and or Salesforce.
