Job Description
Title: Senior Accountant
Location(s): Cleveland, OH
Summary:
The Senior Accountant handles various aspects of accounting for the company and has responsibility for overseeing accounts receivable/payable, maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing financial analysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure proper approval and coding of accounts payable and receivable transactions
Ensure accurate data entry into the Finance and Accounting systems
Maintain ledger of fixed assets
Ensure accurate calculation and payment of commissions
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close
Manage general ledger for designated markets
Perform financial analysis and report metrics to management
Make recommendations based on analysis of reserves and estimates
Assist with annual audit process, providing documentation as requested
Oversee filing and remittance of sales and property tax returns
Prepare regulatory filing for the FCC and state regulatory agencies
Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures
Lead special projects and initiatives
Train and supervise junior staff
Manage ROI reporting and analysis
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3 - 5 years accounting experience
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
Strong analytical skills
Experience with FinancialForce
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements:
Jobs requires sitting for long periods of time
Ability to work additional hours during month-end closes and audits
