We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and experienced Senior Accountant to join our high-energy, collaborative, and growing team.
This position is the primary resource for accounting, financial statement preparation, assisting with analysis of company financial data/KPIs, updating financial models, and implementing new processes that streamline the finance workflow.
Responsibilities
• Acts as a subject matter expert in accounting practices and processes, including technical accounting subjects.
• Advises on accounting and financial impacts of new or proposed transactions, quantifies opportunities and risks, and recommends solutions.
• Helps manage and coordinate any year-end audits and provide all necessary documents/support.
• Contributes to the annual budgeting and planning processes including budget to actual reporting.
• Manages regulatory reporting including, but not limited to, W-2’s, business licensing, franchise tax, state tax, property tax, sales tax, use tax and all other reporting and taxes as they apply.
• Oversees the month-end close process in its entirety through all Income and Balance Sheet accounts.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting.
• Performs ad hoc analysis as needed at the discretion of management.
• Prepares and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to the applicable reporting and procedural standards.
• Oversees the invoicing and revenue recognition procedures.
• Ensures complex accruals are correctly identified and correctly accrued.
• Prepares and distributes monthly sales commission reports.
• Manage stock option paperwork and equity accounting.
Qualifications
• 4-6 years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree or more in Finance/Accounting field
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, strong preference to CPA
• Experience in a start-up of fast-paced environment preferred
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Big4 auditing background preferred
• Understanding of budgets and business-planning
• Excellent communication skills
• Strategic thinking
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize issues, manage diversity, and develop creative solutions to achieve results
