Position Summary
Completes manufacturing related studies and processes. Assembles complex mechanical units or fabricated parts at floor stations to make sub-assemblies and complete units using production tooling and machines. Adjusts controls and instrumentation using a variety of complex tools, materials, equipment, and machines. Works with team members to develop modifications and improvements to equipment, systems, and tooling. May make related recommendations. May perform tests or quality checks on assembled units. Provide maintenance coverage and undertake preventative maintenance when necessary.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Working safely is first and foremost.
  • Must have knowledge and be capable of reading and interpreting complex drawings, sketches, and P&ID drawings.
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools (electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic) safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to use measuring tools, i.e., measuring tape, gages, dial caliper, micrometer, etc.
  • Removes completed material from the work area or calls assistance to do so.
  • Perform cleaning of the factory in accordance with 5S.
  • Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment (hoists, forklifts).
  • Responsible for completing timesheet accurately at the end of each day.
  • Perform assembly / manufacture of engineered equipment and of standard products.
  • Perform test running of machines prior to dispatch from the factory.
  • Assist in the preparation of machines for transport.

Position Requirements
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Preferred:
  • Specialized skill training/certification

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • Required: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, memos, as well as write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Preferred:
  • Experience within a manufacturing / assembly environment
  • Computer literacy to facilitate electronic data entry and record keeping
