Position Description: Directional Driller Job Duties
Plan and execute the drilling of directional and horizontal wells, ensuring adherence to predetermined paths and targets.
Operate and monitor advanced directional drilling equipment and tools, including rotary steerable systems, measurement while drilling (MWD), and logging while drilling (LWD) technologies.
Collaborate with geologists and engineers to interpret drilling data, make real-time decisions, and adjust drilling parameters to optimize well placement and performance.
Perform calculations and analysis to design well paths, considering factors such as anti-collision, wellbore stability, and torque and drag.
Manage the assembly and disassembly of bottom hole assemblies (BHAs) specific to directional drilling needs, ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of directional drilling equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Document all drilling activities, including daily drilling reports, equipment usage, and maintenance logs, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.
