Duties & Responsibilities
- The Business Services Specialist serves as the primary provider of outreach/business engagement services within the American Job Center.
- Responsible for developing relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and business support systems while getting the pulse of local labor markets and business needs.
- Develop, plan, and coordinate informational and employee workshops.
- Conduct rapid response orientations to advise dislocated workers about available training and employment resources and labor market information. Interview applicants to obtain work related information.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Related Bachelor’s Degree (social services, counseling, business), from an accredited College or University preferred.
- 3 years relevant work experience. Past experience working with the Public and Private Sectors.

About Our Workforce Programs:
Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers. Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities. We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements. We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
