Compensation Range(s)
Grade 209: Minimum $75,816 - Maximum $140,254
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. Job Description:

This individual contributor role will be a part of the Health Equity and Community Investments team, collaborating across the division and the organization to provide insight into development of the health equity data infrastructure that helps drive strategic business decision making. This role will also serve as a liaison between Health Equity and the Analytics and Data team.
Essential Accountabilities
- Processes, manipulates, analyzes and visualizes large quantitative and unstructured health equity data.
- Serves as a Health Equity data subject matter expert (SME) for the Health Equity team in addressing and identifying health disparities and SDOH/HRSN through a Public Health lens.
- Extracts, cleans and manipulates large datasets (structured and unstructured) for model building.
- Serves as a data expert and leverage technical data/Extract, Transform, Load/programming skills to continuously challenge the status quo and optimize our analytical tools and processes.
- Leads the development of the health equity data infrastructure to ensure appropriate creation of downstream clinical interventions to mitigate health disparities.
- Leverages methods from diverse disciplines such as, statistical modelling, information theory, information retrieval and other areas to build a robust health equity data engine.
- Weaves together data sets from various sources into a comprehensive holistic single source of truth.
- Develops Power BI solutions to visually enhance storytelling targeted to a variety of audiences.
- Deliver innovative and effective solutions for the management of the health equity strategy by researching and maintaining knowledge of health equity, evidence-based improvement interventions, industry trends, best practices, and benchmarks.
- Designs and implement reporting dashboards tracking key business metrics that provide actionable insights to Executive Leadership and other stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborate with our data scientists to inform development of predictive models and algorithms that are used in business decision making throughout the organization.
- Consult with cross-functional stakeholders on insightful data patterns and potential implications to our business.
- Presents and communicates insights from quantitative analyses both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work with functional sponsors and teams across Health Equity to implement analytic solutions by identifying opportunities to leverage data to drive business solutions.
- Responsible for larger assignments crossing lines of business, and ability to influence and present to managers and above.
- Serves as a data subject matter expert and mentor to the organization on the use of health equity data.
- Identifies and documents best practices and makes recommendations for standards improvement.
- Interacts regularly with business area partners at a manager level, presenting recommendations and statuses.

- Performs other functions as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in quantitative areas like, Math, Epidemiology, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Computer Science. MPH preferred.
- Three (3) years of hands-on experience in predictive modelling, data visualization, data mining, and data analysis or seven (7) years of experience in health informatics required.
- Ability to create, develop/validate models independently.
- SAS Base Certification, SAS Advanced Certification or similar Analytic Software certification preferred.
- Project Management/Process Improvement knowledge (PMP, Six Sigma) preferred.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI required. Strong MS Office experience including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to summarize and present complex information and qualitative analysis in a clear and concise manner to drive business ideas.
- Ability to present information and project findings and facilitate trainings effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation and working on a computer.
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
