What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Execusource inc?
ExecuSource is assisting a client in Anderson, SC with a search for a Production Manager to oversee multiple departments/shifts and report into the Plant Director. The ideal candidate has experience in a mix of project (unit)/assembly based manufacturing processes and will contribute to Continuous Improvement/Process Improvement efforts on a regular basis.
Reporting to: Plant Director
Direct-Reports: Department Supervisors (4 Departments, multi-shift)
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct supervisors/team members to ensure smooth plant operation; maintain good working relationships with peers/superiors/subordinates to enhance performance & minimize turnover
- Oversees all facets of the day-to-day production operations. Continuously improve the production process.
- Prioritize safety and drive zero accident efforts
- ensure close adherence to Production Scheduling, Quality, Cost, & Deadlines.
- Perform supervisory roles and responsibilities (official/written warning) regarding department supervision team and impose disciplinary measures if necessary.
- Collaborate with staff, other departments, central group functions in other locations, senior management, and decision makers to share information and support strategic goals
- Manage personnel issues: PTO, team training/development, staffing schedules, etc.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Project Management, & Scheduling teams to ensure conformity to customer standards.
- Monitor and control production process, verify production parameters and implement needed changes in the production process.
- Create and check corrective action measures for effectiveness to minimize bottlenecks, failures, & malfunctions.
- Advise Plant Director on planning/implementing new production processes.
- Cooperate closely with all other departments to achieve common goals.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Proven experience managing Production Operations.
- Working knowledge of process-improvement initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.
- Hands-on background in production CI/PI processes.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Ability to manage a multi-department/shift operation.
Travel: May be required to travel internationally. This person will need to have an active passport.
