GENERAL SUMMARY
The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) is a non-profit professional organization that provides crucial education, networking, and advancement opportunities frequently sought by hematology/oncology pharmacists, pharmacy interns, residents, fellows, students, technicians, researchers, and administrators specializing in hematology/oncology pharmacy at all levels of practice. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health Policy & Advocacy, the Program Manager supports a range of policy and advocacy initiatives to advance hematology/oncology pharmacy practitioners.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Health Policy & Advocacy, the Program Manager supports a range of policy and advocacy initiatives to advance hematology/oncology pharmacy practitioners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage advocacy and outreach activities
- Serve as staff liaison to Patient Outreach Committee and Patient Advisory Panel
- Provide general committee support including scheduling conference calls, coordinating meeting materials, writing and distributing agendas and minutes, etc.
- Manage Annual Conference activities and events related to these committees
- Assist with public policy activities when necessary
- Attend external meetings with related organizations as necessary (i.e. PHIT, JCPP, coalitions, etc.)
- Support the Advocacy efforts of the Association through member/volunteer support, updating the HOPA website with policy and advocacy content, and providing support to the Policy and Advocacy Team as needed
- Regularly liaise with HOPA’s Government Relations Consultant
- Maintain records related to HOPA’s advocacy activities via government affairs software
- With the input from the appropriate staff, develop marketing strategy and materials as it relates to areas of responsibilities including print and digital content
- Work with team leaders and designated volunteers to develop and manage short-term and long-term special projects as they arise
- Stay updated on new technologies, best practices and industry trends within areas of responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Qualifications - Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills. Computer proficiency and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timeline. An acute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy on outputs. Able to work successfully in a team environment. Experience managing projects from conception to conclusion including defining project objectives and deliverables required.
- Education - Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience - Previous association management experience and familiarity with nonprofit boards of directors a plus. Experience with health policy and advocacy is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Possible travel of up to three (3) weeks per year
- Some evening and weekend work as needed
- Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds as needed
- This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and dedicated weekly days in the office are a requirement of the role.
- EDI requires new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a medical or religious exemption applies and is approved. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized CDC COVID-19 vaccine primary series regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.
