Summary

This position is located in Veteran Services Division (VSD), within the Denver Logistics Center (DLC), Golden, Colorado.

The incumbent provides a wide variety of administrative, analytical, inventory management and technical duties. The incumbent participates in the development, assessment, implementation and oversight of numerous management decisions, policies and / or procedures related to VHA National Programs.

Duties

This is a bargaining unit position.

Areas of Consideration :

1st - Facility-wide (including satellites) 2nd - Administration or Staff office posting the vacancy. 3rd - All other Status eligibles.

Physical Demands : The work is primarily sedentary, but at times does require the incumbent to walk and be on his / her feet for prolonged periods.

Work also requires some standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as books and papers.

This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-11.

At the GS-09 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11.

Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.

Major Duties :

  • Gathers information, identifies and analyzes issues, and develops recommendations to solve substantive problems with work efficiency.
  • Provides analytical program data, supporting an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Analyzes and reviews documents, procedures, controls, files, directives, and performs management information studies of varying scope.
  • Composes a wide variety of correspondence that includes memoranda, letters, administrative replies, technical reports, operations policies and procedures, internal audits, etc.

  • Represents the Denver Logistics Center (DLC) / Services and Distribution Center (SDC) at conferences and meetings sponsored by VA, other government agencies, and / or private industry.
  • Provides national oversight on quality relating to and support in areas of logistics, contracts, financial, and cataloging for national programs.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and subject matter expert (SME) for DLC contracts while working closely with the contracting officer (CO) to ensure that contract requirements are followed.
