The Executive Office of Education (EOE) is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our Secretariat Legal team as an Access to Higher Education Project Management Consultant. The Executive Office of Education provides a range of support and guidance to the various Commonwealth’s Education Agencies. The Access to Higher Education Project Management Consultant will:

1. Coordinate, organize, and facilitate both internal and external stakeholder meetings related to the development of policies, practices, and strategies designed to eliminate barriers to access for all students and enhance student body diversity throughout Massachusetts’ public and private colleges and universities, which would include preparing meeting agendas and materials and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders and provide administrative support as needed.

2. Assist in the planning and execution of statewide convening(s), which will include collaborating with stakeholders to identify speakers, panelists, and workshop facilitators, manage logistics, and develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan to promote the convening.

3. Assist in the planning and execution of a series of regional roundtables focused on particular topics related to the accessibility and affordability of higher education for Massachusetts students.

4. Facilitate coordination between the EOE and the Commonwealth’s three Education Agencies (Department of Higher Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Early Education and Care) on various topics related to advancing access to higher education.

5. Work closely with EOE staff and Department of Higher Education staff in drafting a report summarizing the work done with external stakeholders, including any findings, recommendations, and summaries of stakeholder feedback on how to promote access to higher education, particularly for students historically underrepresented in enrollment and completion of programs at the postsecondary level.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in project management, particularly in the education sector.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher
  • A minimum 5 of years’ work experience managing projects in the education sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team to timely complete required tasks
