Our company is currently seeking ​a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our company. If you have any food, beverage, or hospitality experience a plus! Requires minimum travel monthly between a few cities. Will be responsible in supervising other bookkeepers and admin staff in various locations.

Position Overview: A Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting functions of an organization, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and review complex financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
  2. General Ledger Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger accounts.
    • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial data.
  3. Month-End and Year-End Closing:

    • Manage and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation and posting of necessary journal entries.
    • Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate with other departments to gather and verify data required for closing activities.
  4. Compliance and Internal Controls:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical data and providing insights into future financial performance.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  6. Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Streamline financial reporting and record-keeping processes using automation and technology where applicable.
  7. Team Supervision and Mentoring:

    • Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Review and approve the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
    • Assist in training and developing team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  8. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Communicate effectively with management, finance team members, and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
    • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., CPA) may be preferred or required.
  • Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex accounting tasks and financial reporting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Knowledge of food and beverage a plus!
