Position Overview: A Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting functions of an organization, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review complex financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger accounts.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial data.
Month-End and Year-End Closing:
- Manage and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation and posting of necessary journal entries.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather and verify data required for closing activities.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Process Improvement:

- Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Review and approve the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with management, finance team members, and other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., CPA) may be preferred or required.
- Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex accounting tasks and financial reporting.
