Special Education Teacher - Self-Contained (Severe and Profound/Life Skills) Junior High School Long Term Substitute position available.
Provides direct instruction in a self-contained setting for students in grades grades 7-8
Collaborate with and oversee support staff, clinicians, general education teachers and other members of the I.E.P team to maintain, create, and monitor comprehensive plans for identified children.
Address academic, social-emotional, and functional goals for identified students.
Monitor, implement, and evaluate communication plans, behavior intervention plans as required based on individual student needs.
Oversee support staff assigned to the classroom, providing on-site direction and training, as required, to address the academic, social-emotional and functional needs of individual students.
Facilitate the Alternate Assessment process for assigned students.
Maintain ongoing professional communication with families and outside providers, as applicable.
Maintain compliance with special education regulations.
