What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, Government Strategy position at Exiger?
We're looking for a passionate, experienced governmental strategist/policy advisor to coordinate and execute strategies across the business that proactively engage executive branch and legislative policy makers to advance Exiger's partnership across the government. You'll execute the strategy across the business in coordination with key internal stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of a strategy that bridges across the internal defense, civilian, and industry teams in order to conduct key stakeholder outreach efforts, legislative advocacy campaigns, and sustained engagement with both the Executive Branch and Congressional champions.
- Provide briefings to identified advocates across the D.C. landscape to include legislators, representatives from executive departments and agencies, think tanks, etc. on Exiger technology and the importance of supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.
- Establish Exiger as a trusted partner to policymakers across the U.S. Government.
- Manage and support special projects to further Exiger's advocacy efforts.
- Work in partnership with business counterparts to shape outreach engagements across the federal government and defense industrial base.
- Identify key government policy and legislation relevant to Exiger and present the effects of these policies to the business.
- Generate language for collateral materials for stakeholder engagements.
- Serve as an advisor on policy matters, providing insights on strategic decisions and their impact.
- Partner with Exiger's lobbying firms and not for profit partners to enact the overall Exiger legislative strategy.
- Prepare presentations to the Board, executive leadership team, and relevant stakeholders to build consensus.
What You Need:
- U.S. citizenship
- 10 years of experience in federal government affairs, public policy management, coalition building, and/or government service.
- Political and legislative acumen with knowledge of the legislative/policy making process.
- Past success developing and implementing business strategy across disparate stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
- Executive presence and ability to maintain a sense of urgency, efficiency, and flexibility.
- Willingness to travel, estimated at up to 25-30% of the time, as needed.
