Responsibilities:
- Scrum Master will be working on a Commercial Lines Small Business Insurance BOP (business owner policy) delivery team.
- Facilitates agile events and activities as necessary and ensures the team is realizing value from them, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement.
- Help the Scrum Team focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the definition of done.
- Ensuring Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
- Support the Product Owner in finding techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
- Help the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items and works with Product Owner to ensure backlog is groomed.
- Leads agile ceremonies.
- Assists the team with authoring team-driven metrics and leverages existing metrics to drive improvements.
- Creates an environment of trust and openness where all team members have an equal voice.
- Work with other Scrum Masters to increase the adoption and effectiveness of Scrum in the organization
- Created and delivers bi-weekly update in business sponsor meeting.
- Delivery team is responsible for rate revisions and BOP application updates for the SBI BOP product.
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Recent/prior Scrum Master experience
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communications skills
- Comfortable with presenting/working with senior IT leaders, business partners, other platforms, and vendors
- Identify and connects with other teams to remove impediments
- Identifies and applies continuous improvements to support team members and the situations.
- Skilled at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques within a Scaled environment
- Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with gathering IT requirements for policy lifecycle (i.e. quoting/servicing a policy), billing, and or payments
- Ability to work in Azure Dev Ops (AzDO) and in an Agile/Scrum team environment, and collaborate with developers on technical features
- Experience with relational databases and any experience with MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Knowledge of API development or delivery, enterprise security standards, and Splunk and or AppDynamics
