Duties:
The incumbents will serve serves as a Principal Engineer H&H for the EXP U.S Services in the Washington DC Office in the Infrastructure Division primarily focused on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects. The incumbents will lead and work on the various projects and act as a member of infrastructure team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead engineer for water resources, hydraulics, and drainage design.
- Manage and lead FEMA floodplain/floodway studies, river mechanics, H & H studies of bridges & culverts.
- Manage and lead low impact development projects and runoff reduction methods related to land development and transportation projects.
- Manage and lead roadway drainage design, stormwater management analysis.
- Design closed & open storm drains system, stormwater management, and erosion & sediment control plans, bridge/culvert scour assessments and countermeasure design, stormwater pollution and prevention plans.
- Perform hydraulic modeling using drainage design software’s such as HEC RAS, Pond Pack, Hydra flow, Microstation, Geopak Drainage, TR55, Hy-8 and other software relating to hydrologic & hydraulic modeling.
- Assist in project management responsibilities including cost estimates, proposals, scopes of work, schedules, invoices and client management
- Train and Mentor team members and young professionals
- Develop relationships with clients and develop business opportunities
- Manage and lead development of proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Prepare and present meeting materials, briefings, and related documents to senior management
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 14 plus years of water resources, hydraulics, and drainage design experience.
- Engineering experience preferably with in local agencies and state DOT projects. VDOT experience preferred.
- Proficient in HEC RAS, Pond Pack, Hydra flow, Microstation, Geopak Drainage, TR55, Hy-8.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in VA or DC required.
- Ability to communication effectively, both orally and written
