Through active, real-time monitoring using advanced cargo sensors, our team of security and logistics professionals keeps an eye on shipments in transit and takes steps to respond based on customer priorities.Job DescriptionCommand Center agents are responsible for monitoring transport of cargo in transit worldwide.This position is part of an experienced team of logistics security experts responsible for day-to-day operations of the Cargo Signal Command Center focused on reducing the potential for losses of vulnerable cargo using enhanced security protocols, tracking and technology tools, and service provider management and development.Staff the command center with reliability and punctualityParticipate in and help build a team environmentTranspose information from documents or other sources into the monitoring software, ensuring accurate and timely data entryActively monitor shipments to ensure compliance with security protocolsTrack and trace shipments using internal and external applications and by telephone/e-mail to service providerProvide shipment status updates to customers by e-mail and phoneRespond to emergency alarms and exceptions according to company proceduresUnderstand documented requirements and correctly interpret this information to fulfill customer instructions and expectationsPromote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and prideEscalate problems to management when necessaryParticipate in shift-level exercises and incident response drillsQualificationsPassion for logistics (air, ocean, trucking, distribution, risk management)Exceptional communication and customer service skillsProblem-solver focused on continuous improvement of protocols and processesFamiliarity with equipment used, including software, GPS trackers, and cellular networksAptitude for resolute questioning to find the root cause when given incomplete informationSense of urgency and quality-obsessed approach to timely and accurate informationRespect for global regulatory compliance procedures and integrity to uphold them at all timesPositive and willing-to-help attitudeMust exude and promote Expeditors cultureAdhere to the company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and VisionaryFluent in English (written and spoken)Additional language skills a plusAdditional InformationCandidate may elect to work at one of the following Cargo Signal office locations:Federal Way, WASeattle, WABellevue, WALynnwood, WACargo Signal is a 24/7/365 operation.
