Job Description
A manager opportunity has arisen within our Bureau Analytics team that helps design, deliver and support Experian’s credit Bureau products and services. The Bureau Analytics team are accountable for developing Experian’s flagship generic credit bureau scores, also known as the Delphi scores. These tools are used by lenders across the UK to understand consumer credit risk/appetite and play a key role in helping to make that risk more transparent for a more robust and easier to access lending system.
Day to day you will:
- Have responsibility for efficiently and effectively managing multiple and complex projects from concept to implementation on time and in line with client expectations.
- Define project requirements, ensure all analysis is thorough and that the team follow established quality procedures to help guarantee the robustness of the solution.
- Support and lead other Data Modellers to develop descriptive and predictive analytical solutions using best practice analytical methodologies.
- Manage the client relationship through the life cycle of the project, building strong relationships
- Drive high performance by providing communicating clear project outlines, accountability, and expectations on standards
- Continual re-examination and innovation of existing process, with a focus on optimisation and automation for increased speed and accuracy of work leading to a greater customer experience
- Communicate and manage both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide support internally and externally on the use and understanding of Bureau products & services
- Encourage a culture of personal development ‘ownership’ across the team ensuring that each individual has regular performance reviews, career conversations and a structured personal development plan.
- Ensure each employee is encouraged to participate in two-way exchanges of key information i.e. business messages and employee feedback.
- Attracting, retaining and developing a talented workforce
- Define clear goals and objectives for each direct employee – ensure they are cascaded throughout the organisation
- Motivating team through peak volume/stressful periods
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree or equivalent standard, with a high mathematical content e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research (O.R), Economics, Physical Sciences.
- An innovative and inquisitive mind, focused on identifying and solving data & analysis problems.
- Able to evaluate understand and interpret data from both an internal and client perspective
- Able to interpret technical features into commercial benefits.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of scorecard development processes, scoring solutions and related data analysis techniques which may be used to address client business issues.
- Significant experience of managing statistical / analytical project work and strong time management.
- Well developed interpersonal skills used to influence internal and client stakeholders
- Well developed leadership and communication skills to drive high performance
- Demonstrable experience of building and leveraging relationships
- Well developed decision making and critical thinking skills
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork.
- Experience of coaching and mentoring immediate team members
- Commercially focused.
- Relevant Language skills for local marketplace.
Additionally it would be advantageous to have:
- Knowledge & experience of coding languages such as Python, PySpark, SAS/WPS and/or R
- Knowledge & experience of advanced machine learning techniques within languages such as Python and/or R
- An understanding of Credit bureau data and it’s application
