Experian is seeking a Data Scientist to play a key role within our Data Solutions Team in the Decision Analytics organization supporting Experian Buy Now Pay Later Industry Solutions. Experian Buy Now Pay Later Industry Solutions provides data and decisioning to the US Buy Now Pay Later market in support of the credit life cycle seeking to help banks, finance companies, and financial institutions to identify the best candidates from risk and targeting perspectives.
Examples of solutions that Experian would provide include attributes and scores as well as analytical solutions for Buy Now Pay Later segment. The Data Solutions Team is responsible for using our extensive analytical expertise to craft the next generation of Analytics products and services as well as producing relevant thought leadership material.

You will give presentations on your analytic findings to all levels at Experian and to Experian clients. You will work on and often lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Job Description
- Lead analytical projects from solution design and data integrity evaluation through solution development, documentation, and implementation.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to determine the appropriate analysis parameters and performance measures to be applied as well as requirements for decision tools and strategy implementation and monitoring.
Understand the analytic needs of the Buy Now Pay Later industry through interactions with clients, partners, and internal constituencies
Communicate with and deliver presentations to end users on analysis results.
Produce implementation plans and participate in model governance and testing to support the implementation of statistical models and other decision tools.
Support field sales force and marketing organization by providing analytical expertise.
Support the development of new analytical and data products and services, and the enhancement of current processes and offerings.
Evaluate new data sources identifying the most appropriate machine learning/deep learning/data mining/text mining techniques to uncover the value of the data
Develops dashboards and reports, leveraging data visualization and other tools
Efficiently manage his/her own project queue and develop streamlined workflows with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferably in a related quantitative field (Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics).
10 years of relevant working experience in analytics field preferably in financial services and/or fintech Later industry
Expert experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and statistical/mathematical programming languages (e.g. R, SAS) with familiarity in using AWS, Hadoop, PySpark, Java, Scala, Spark, Git and data visualization tools such as Tableau
Expertise with statistical analysis, applying various machine learning techniques, predictive modeling, and data mining to interpret data and solve business problems
Proven ability to think creatively, solve problems, learn quickly, work independently, handle ambiguity, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to both a technical and non-technical audience
Detail oriented individual that can work effectively in cross-functional teams
