What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wait Staff position at Experience Alaska Tours?
Position available for fun-loving, hard-working restaurant and tour company in Ketchikan, Alaska, serving an All-You-Can-Eat Dungeness Crab Feast! Position requires knowledge and ability to greet guests and serve them food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner, based on the procedures and timeline set forth by management.
Wait Staff are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all dining and service areas in the restaurant. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time without breaks, bend, push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs. or more with ease. Must have Alaska Food Handlers Card, TAP Card (if over 21,) and be able to pass a drug test. Prefer 1 year customer service experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment or tourism operation. Free housing, company vehicles, kayaks, and spectacular scenery provided onsite. Season runs from April to October with seasonal bonus if contract completed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Arrive on time for scheduled work hours.
- Wear full uniform as required by the tour. Long hair should be pulled into a ponytail. No visual body piercing accessories allowed during work schedule other than earrings.
- Open and set dining rooms for first meals, and clean and close at end of day.
- Work with kitchen staff to facilitate plating and delivery of food.
- Assist with dishwashing, gift shop, laundry, and other duties when requested.
- Maintain a friendly and professional appearance and attitude when at work.
- Learn script (5 min. orientation for guests) to demonstrate how to crack crab.
- Serve beverages and crab meal to guests in a friendly and professional manner.
