Overview:
This is a great opportunity to be lead data architect across the compliance technology function. You will support the transformation efforts of the Compliance department by delivering strategic technology Actimize, Empowered Systems, StarCompliance vendor projects as well as designing and building a best-in-class data warehouse to support our business needs. You will work in a dynamic environment, partnering with data analyst, ETL developers, vendors and consultants while being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the areas of compliance surveillance data sets, transactional data sets, and bank related reference data. The role will support and help build product knowledge as well as develop key data flows, understand and document data enrichment and validations with a focus on, but not limited to, understanding bank related trade and transaction data, compliance risks, communications risks, as well as financial crime, and manipulation risks.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the Architect on a large scale compliance transformation. Meet with various business unit technology leaders and their teams to understand the current state of their data, performing discovery, modeling and mapping future state of the data architecture for the firm. You will have a deep knowledge of reference architecture build outs in large data environments.
- You will have a minimum 10 to 15 plus years of hands-on data analysis, modeling and mapping for build out of future state architecture and be responsible for creating a map of existing data systems across the enterprise.
- Working with cross functional teams your will provide a POV on the Denoto tool for data virtualization as well as working with our Enterprise Azure Cloud team to determine how to align to the strategic vision of the firm.
- You will also help documenting data architecture patterns, interoperability and support designing a framework for data onboarding and access.
- Work with Identity and Access Management to ensure the right controls are in place for our data.
- Manage the relationship with internal partners, gathering requirements, understanding business domain, presenting results, and developing a trusted adviser relationship.
- Work across a wide range of vendor approaches.
- Provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise and serve as trusted advisor in the analytics discipline.
- Manage full lifecycle of data projects and solutions - including ideation, data acquisition / exploration/ engineering, prototyping, and productionization.
- Complete impact assessments for new applications as well as understanding decommissioning exercises for our aged apps that are being replaced.
- Define data requirements and design systems / flows.
- Work independently and collaboratively (as needed) within the team to achieve the desired outcomes of all data efforts.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in working with Business and Data analysts for data modelling governance and analytics.
- Solid experience with Data warehousing, ETL and Python.
- Exposure to the Azure cloud platform.
- Exposure to visualization tools like Power BI.
- Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
- 8 years hands on experiences in data mining, data modeling in a large-scale, corporate environment.
- Solid coding skills in Python, SQL or other equivalent languages in different environments.
- Strong knowledge in Data Mining, Information Retrieval.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Self-starter with great skills in teamwork, partnership, and communications both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to learn new data technologies and frameworks.
- Proven ability to partner across teams on system flows and design to delivery on new initiatives.
