Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and must be a strong team player.

Responsibilities:

• Interview patients and record medical history, vital signs, and prepare patients for medical visits with the physician.
• Conduct health/risk screening using standardized tools.
• Complete accurate EMR documentation of patient information and services provided.
• Collect laboratory specimens, schedule diagnostic studies, and submit e-prescriptions as ordered by the physician.
• Educate patients and their family about Vascular Procedures and pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
• Provide patient education and appointment reminders.
• Assist with nursing tasks under the direction of the registered nurse or authorized health care providers.
• Circulate the procedure room and assist the surgical team during Vascular Procedures.
• Assist with administrative functions including; checking patients in and out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, faxing patient reports and scanning documentation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• A friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Further education in medical assistance or related fields is a plus.
• Knowledge of eClinical works is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
