Overview
EXPLEO USA is looking for a EWIS Designer to join a dynamic and expanding team in Denver, CO., United States.
Responsibilities:
Design and route electrical harnesses in both pressurized and non-pressurized areas of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Create efficient harness routing solutions within avionic racks while considering cable management and accessibility.
Install various types of equipment, including sensors, lights, and heavy LRUs (more than 1 kg), ensuring secure and reliable mounting.
Select appropriate brackets and design/install them to support harnesses and equipment as needed.
Develop cut-off plates and specific brackets using sheet metal design techniques.
Design brackets for equipment that require machining, ensuring precision and durability.
Possess knowledge of installation procedures for anemometry, air conditioning, water/waste systems, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems in aircraft.
Interpret and work with various schematics, including EPD, PD, VKE, Stick Drawing, FD, PWD, etc., to inform design decisions.
Create installation drawings, definition drawings for harnesses, flattened drawings for harnesses, and drawings for single parts and assemblies.
Develop and maintain accurate BOMs for all components and materials used in electrical systems.
Communicate effectively in simplified English, adhering to the ASDT-STE100 standard for aerospace documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in EWIS design within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of aerospace regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize designs.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and components, including avionics, is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools for EWIS design is advantageous.
