We are seeking instructors for Summer 2024 to lead six weeks of college-credit, hands-on courses in Medical Rotations.

The Opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a world class program that is designed to live at the intersection of academics and the future of work. You will be provided with a highly engaging, experientially based Medical Rotations curriculum that has been designed with a group of top experts in the field, yet is still open enough for you to make your mark. Students in this Concentration have the option to complete the summer coursework and an additional post-summer assignment in order to earn two college credits through our academic partners.
If you are someone with significant experience in clinical medicine, are an advanced graduate student, have already earned a terminal degree, or currently teach, we are interested in connecting. EXPLO is renowned for the support it provides its instructors and teaching fellows, so if you don’t have a lot of teaching, but you know the medical profession and you are open to professional coaching and keen on improving your craft, this could be a position for you.
You’ll work with an Instructional Coach, our resident experts in non-traditional teaching techniques, who you will advise in leading a section of the Concentration. The curriculum features visiting faculty, guest speakers, trips, and projects with organizations whose work is on the frontiers of their field. This is an excellent opportunity to extend your professional network while working with bright and curious students. This role includes 4.5 instructional hours per day.

Lead Instructor Responsibilities:
- Review existing project-based curriculum and work closely with a year-round EXPLO team members to customize it based on your areas of interest and research
- Teach 4.5 instructional hours per day
- Complete the relevant and necessary daily preparation required for delivering a great student experience, including lab preparation, classroom setup, and giving student feedback
- Work closely with one of our summer Instructional Coaches to hone your teaching skills, monitor student progress, and make adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with outside partners of EXPLO to facilitate unique learning opportunities for our students
- Chaperone off-campus academic trips with your Concentration in order to integrate the experience with curricular content
About You:
You’ve got:
- An interest in teaching in a hands-on and interactive environment
- Recent and significant professional or academic experience in a medical field.
- A graduate degree in a Medical or related field
- Availability to work on campus for the duration of the concentration
Compensation Benefits:
This is a three week, seasonal position that begins on July 22, 2024. The salary range for this three- week role is $4,500 and $6,000, based on relevant experience. For the health and safety of our community, EXPLO requires all employees and new hires to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
