We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer for our Materials & Corrosion Engineering Practice in Atlanta, GA. You will have a significant role in developing business and expanding the practice in your technical area of expertise.

 You will be responsible for: 

• Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities
• Significantly increasing Exponent's materials and metallurgical consulting efforts
• Analyzing a wide variety of materials failures using field inspections, engineering analysis and experimental testing
• Managing and mentoring junior staff

You will have the following skills and qualifications: 

• Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related field
• Business development experience with a proven track record
• The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in their field
• Ability to attract projects to support full-time staff, and to manage and develop a group of highly motivated individuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
• A record of professional papers and presentations, and a proven record of dedication to quality and accuracy
