Job Description

The Payroll Specialist is entrusted with the precise and punctual processing of all payroll functions. Serving as the primary contact for all payroll inquiries, this role demands exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will handle frequent and urgent requests for information regarding payroll, tax, vacation and sick time, report generation, general ledger, and other payroll policy matters.

Responsibilities :

  • Verify timesheets for accuracy.
  • Input data into databases and spreadsheets.
  • Manage direct deposit requests and data.
  • Process paper checks for distribution.
  • Obtain all necessary signatures for payroll distribution.
  • Process wage garnishments.
  • Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Handle out-of-cycle checks and employee separations.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paychecks, direct deposit, and general payroll questions.
  • Maintain current employee salary allocations per payroll.
  • Troubleshoot problems with paychecks, tax deductions, vacation and sick accruals, and other payroll-related matters by researching and responding accordingly to staff and managers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in processing new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, calculating wage and overtime payments, double time, and other duties associated with standard payroll processing.

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in PC skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
