Express is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for a national emergency response restoration and general contractor specializing in the return of compromised property to their pre-loss condition. They work to restore their clients' properties, commercial, multifamily, hospitality, educational properties from water damages, flood, fire, smoke and natural disasters.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Assistant Project Manager provides emergency restoration and disaster recovery services to residential and commercial clients. Responsibilities include maintaining a fully stocked and prepared company vehicle to drive to work sites, obtaining necessary paperwork, preparing work areas for demolition, cleaning, equipment setup, drying and continually monitoring moisture levels until project completion.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Water, fire, mold remediation processes, and potential biohazard projects
- Provides physical labor at building and construction projects, and demolition sites
- Flexible to assist the team when needed on all service lines
- Set up of equipment for drying structures
- Load and unload building materials, machinery, and tools
- Clean and prepare job sites while maintaining a safe environment
- Perform emergency board up, water extraction, and fire mitigation services efficiently and safely
- Prepare rooms / areas for work activities to include setting up staging areas and equipment
- Perform demolition and general clean up
- Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing debris
- Set drying equipment and complete moisture mapping
- Complete crew sheets for the daily work performed
- Vehicle maintenance cleaned, stocked, ready for response
- Overseeing labor sub-contractors on the job site and work to be completed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to include securely storing equipment, tools and supplies while not in use
- Interface with customers and relay information to Project Manager and Superintendent when appropriate
- Complete paperwork, upload documents, and provide job updates into database as needed
- Maintain warehouse, equipment, tools in clean and working condition
- Ensure the company vehicle is fully stocked at all times
- Monitor consumable material stock
- Monitor the safety, security, efficiency, and appearance of the company vehicle
- Monitor the safety, security and appearance of the company job sites
- Recognize and mitigate job site safety hazards
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass DOT physical requirements
- May be required to have DOT certification to operate certain vehicles
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools,
- Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls
- Clean driving record
- Understanding of basic construction safety
- IICRC water certification or willingness to obtain
PREFERENCES:
- Restoration experience
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available for emergency work after hours and on weekends including on-call shifts
- Must be willing to travel locally, regionally, or nationally as business needs dictate
- Due to the nature of the work, often the job sites will be dirty, possibly cold or wet and sometimes unsanitary. Every effort is made to protect our employees through the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and other safety precautions.
- Must pass a "fit test" for proper fit of respirator (could involve shaving of facial hair)
- All technician attire must meet OSHA requirements for the specific job site
- Technician should wear company-approved attire
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull at least 50 lbs.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, kneeling and occasionally climb ladders, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in extreme hot, cold and humid conditions
