Responsibilities

The right candidate for this role is technically strong, a team lead, takes initiative and leads other team members in delivering solutions. The candidate thrives to provide value to business though continuous improvements in systems & processes, brings in innovation and has futuristic mindset.

The Technical Consultant role is responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise level business intelligence solutions using MicroStrategy and other BI Technologies. This is a hands-on technical role with involvement in complete software development life cycle of new solutions and in administration, trouble shooting and enhancement of deployed solutions. Role involves regular interaction with functional and other IT partners in Data Warehouse, Enterprise Reporting, POS, Planning & Allocation, Store Operations and Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage and lead design, development, testing, deployment, enhancements and troubleshooting of Business Intelligence Technology solutions.
• Collaborate with functional partners, project management and cross-functional tech teams to understand and analyze requirements, explore options, and then design/develop solutions.
• Use MicroStrategy platform and other BI technologies like Tableau to deliver business reports and analytics.
• Lead development activities including development of schema objects, metrics, filters, prompts, custom groups, consolidations and transformations. Build reports, documents, dashboards and dossiers.
• Perform code reviews to ensure all solutions meet architectural, functional and performance requirements.
• Participates in 24/7 production support activity with the team
• Identify and fix issues with existing reporting including any issues in data, integrations, batch processing and performance
• Support a large user base in resolving issues
• Participate in administration, upgrades, patching and improvement of deployed technologies
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables for self and the team.
• Guide and mentor other resources on the team to deliver business value
• Develop material and conduct training sessions for users of BI solutions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent job experience.
• 7 years of experience in delivering enterprise wide Business Intelligence solutions.
• 7 years of expertise on MicroStrategy Platform in leading Development, Modelling and Administration. High level of expertise in building reports, dashboards/dossiers, data visualization, data discovery, mobile, data marts and cubes.
• 5 years as a team lead in handling projects and team deliverables.
• Strong ability to understand and analyze data using complex SQL queries
• Strong understanding of relational concepts and knowledge of databases like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Google Big-Query etc.
• Experience in Troubleshooting, optimization, and tuning of MicroStrategy objects and SQL processes in support of reporting
• Working knowledge in other BI technologies like Power BI & Tableau
• Experience in Retail / Supply Chain industry
• Preferred ability to code in languages like C#, PowerShell & Python
• Preferred exposure to Google cloud or similar cloud platforms
• Preferred MicroStrategy certifications Developer and/or Administration streams.
• Experience with Agile Methodologies using Atlassian
