A Brooklyn-based wholesale lighting distributor is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Estimator to join our team of lighting and controls distribution professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively read and evaluate architectural and electrical drawings
  • Conduct a detailed takeoff of lighting fixtures and controls as shown on the drawings.
  • Read and check lighting specifications to insure they are in sync with layout and application on drawings.
  • Interact with client when, or if, inconsistencies in specifications and drawings are discovered.
  • Estimate lighting changes for bulletins/addendum's on projects in progress.
  • Interact with manufacturers and factory sales reps to produce competitive and timely pricing.
  • Evaluate accuracy of vendors’ quotes
  • Prepare bid packages based on customer’s bill of material
  • Collaborate with Management/Sales on proposals
  • Increase overall project performance

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

  • General Education Degree .
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • On-Screen Take Off experience a plus.
  • Saw8 Cahill Estimating experience a plus.
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and successfully work in a demanding environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Positive customer service skills.
  • Experience in lighting a plus!
