Job Summary
The role for Business Development & New Relationships is responsible for day-to-day sales operations and creating new relationships on behalf of the Company for the Commercial Landscape Maintenance division. The position is responsible for achieving sales as well as maintaining a pipeline of new and repeat business, aligning and contributing to the Company’s Sales Goals for the future. This person will drive community engagement and build relationships through various means including educational events, attending networking events and trade organization conferences, etc. This person will manage personal, business, and community relationships with the intention of developing sales bookings >$25,000 per week personally, and annual books of >$1,000.000 personally. This position will also help with estimates and contract renewals, as well as help with customer service needs as they arise.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
Prospecting and Lead Generation for new referral relationships as to meet weekly and
annual bookings goals.
Showcase stellar follow-through and communication skills. (verbal/written)
Tracking of these daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goal activities in CRM.
Manage all new leads for our Commercial Landscape Maintenance business.
Managing flow of leads, opportunities, executing deliverables through other designers and account managers to the company standards.
Assist in measuring properties and help with customer maintenance contract renewals.
Create and present proposals in a timely fashion.
Driving and executing bookings per week > $25,000 personally, annual bookings of >$1,000,000 personally.
Extreme organization and follow through on the sales administrative processes throughout the sales cycle.
Culture Building - Responsible for contributing to positive team morale.
Resolve any AR issues within 15 days to ensure all payments are received within 30 days.
Manages personal, business and community relationships with the intention of developing sales bookings.
Responsible for answering questions to customers that relate to various topics of the industry standards.
Follows the standard close out process on all projects and sales on assigned projects.
Involved in at least one outside community organizations with monthly involvement to promote the company.
Holds consistent “lunch and learn” or “meet and greet” type business development functions for Exscape Designs.
Help to build the respect of the Company in the eyes of the industry by attending networking events with trade groups such as B.O.M.A or N.O.A.A.
Required Licenses
Valid driver’s license and insurable on a company policy
Required Work Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a pertinent business-related field from four-year college or university and 5 years’ experience in a small business setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of sales experience including hunting/prospecting, relationship development, planning, organizing, and negotiating skills while closing
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and administer insightful market research protocols.
Capacity to sustain consequential working relationships.
Cautiously optimistic, personable, and resolute.
An arsenal of brilliant sales and business development techniques that you are eager to share.
Must be able to develop other employees and display personal accountability
Must be able to plan and execute projects as agreed with the client, on time and on budget, exhibiting excellent time management skills
Must be a highly energetic, punctual, confident self-starter
Must be able to think independently, be direct, and have great attention to detail.
Collaboration experience but comfortable working alone or without supervision
Must be able to display a positive “can do” attitude at all times, especially under tight deadlines
Displays unquestionable ethics, integrity, responsibility, and dependability
Understanding of Landscape related mathematical functions, including measuring spaces, configuring elevations, and calculating material quantities and specifications
Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
Proficient in use of computers and software applications, smart phones, or data-enabled device for communication and reporting, and willing to carry them for work purposes.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment in sometimes harsh weather conditions, sometimes near heavy equipment and construction activities.
Ability to work flexible working hours to accommodate customer appointments and meetings
Able to pass a background check in accordance with state and federal laws
Preferred Work Experience and Skills
Bi-lingual – English/Spanish
5 years of sales experience in landscape/hardscape, architecture, or residential real estate and construction
