ESI is experiencing significant growth and seeks to add a Plant Manager to lead our fabrication shop in Winchester, VA.

The Role:
Extreme Steel, Inc. is seeking an experienced Plant Manager with at least 8 to 15 years of experience in a recognized construction and/or structural steel industry company who will be responsible for all day-to-day manufacturing activities at ESI’s steel fabrication facility in Winchester, VA. This position plays a critical role in our expected growth over the next three years. There is a significant opportunity to advance with exceptional performance.

The position will report to the VP of Operations of ESI and have frequent and direct engagement with our CEO and Leadership Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directing day-to-day operations for production, fabrication, maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Establishing and monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Developing strategic operating, capital, and other plans to improve operational effectiveness.
- Reporting out daily, weekly, and monthly cadence to continuously improve stakeholder satisfaction.
- Partnering with Project Managers and Field Management to ensure necessary integration and seamless execution of projects to ensure high customer satisfaction and high-performing organization.
- Building, managing, and maintaining a safety culture to ensure full OSHA compliance and achieving zero recordable or lost time injuries.
- Supporting the rapid growth of ESI and driving customer satisfaction through the quality of the product and service, as well as the timely fulfillment of customer orders
- Allocating and managing resources (labor, equipment, and materials) to optimize production output concerning delivery, quality, and cost to our field teams to meet our customers’ demands
- Driving ERP systems and manufacturing automation projects to reduce operational costs and maintenance-related projects to improve and maintain equipment and facilities
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Construction, Manufacturing, or Engineering or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates must have at least eight (8) years of experience working in Operations Management or Plant Management role(s) in a manufacturing facility.
- Production and Capacity Planning Background required, including a continuous improvement mindset, using Lean Manufacturing tools, 5S, or 6 Sigma.
- Experience managing and leading others, setting performance goals, and measuring performance.
- Industry-related Safety Certifications, such as STSC, CHSP, CHST, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent certifications.
- Develop plans that meet various goals simultaneously and be able to change these plans as business conditions change.
- Use analysis tools to determine opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work additional hours and varied working hours to effectively manage people across all shifts
