Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge in ophthalmology and medical coding.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including visual acuity, lensometry, and autorefraction.
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient care, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation.
- Provide exceptional patient care and education on eye health and procedures.
- Maintain inventory of ophthalmic supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Experience:
- Experience in ophthalmology or optometry setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using medical coding systems.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
- Familiarity with retail sales or front desk operations in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Understanding of physiology related to eye health.
