Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge in ophthalmology, medical billing, and medical records systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary patient work-up including history taking and visual acuity testing
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations and minor office procedures
- Administer eye medications as directed by the physician
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, OCTs, and fundus photography
- Educate patients on eye care, medications, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during procedures
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical billing procedures
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on pediatric patients
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology of the eye
- Ability to use electronic medical records systems effectively
- Understanding of aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
