- Field Based Safety Trainer

With a strong commitment to safety and excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Trainer to join our team. As a Safety Trainer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our workforce remains well-trained, informed, and equipped to handle the unique challenges of working in underground electrical environments.
POSITION SUMMARY: The safety trainer’s primary area of responsibility will be conducting, facilitating, and executing, training in accordance with OSHA compliance, industry-specific regulations, company-specific policies, and company procedures. In addition to the training function, the safety trainer will also be responsible for employee skills assessments, field safety audits, compliance practices, OSHA compliance and job site inspections. You will collaborate with various teams to identify safety training needs, develop engaging training materials, conduct hands-on demonstrations, and promote a safety-first culture. Your expertise and dedication will play a vital role in enhancing safety awareness and the practices of our workforce.
The safety trainer will also be required to be proficient with working underground infrastructure. The safety trainer will work closely with Director of Safety & Training, regional management, office leadership, branch personnel, and customer representatives, to ensure adherence to company and customer's safety policies and procedures.
Position will be primarily based out of the Coastal Region. Location determination to be discussed between hiring director and candidate.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Company and Crew compliance to following the companies Safety Procedures outlined in the F&H Health and Safety Handbook.
- Conduct Field Audits
- Conduct skills assessment audits for employee progression.
- Track employee training to ensure compliance.
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office Products and their functions (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Adobe PDF).
- Organize and participate in safety meetings, workshops, and seminars to reinforce safety principles and address specific safety concerns.
- Competency in the ability to speak, coach, and teach teammates in safety-related meetings and training sessions.

- Willingness to travel within the state to perform training courses and crew visits.
- Understand loop and radial feed underground infrastructure.
- Ability to assist with fault locating and cable identification.
Qualifications:
Required:
· 5 years in the electric utility industry
· Underground distribution experience
Preferred:
· Lineman experience.
· Overhead distribution experience.
· 8 years electric utility industry experience.
· 2 years of Leadership experience.
· Safety Program experience.
Travel:
· Position is a field-based position with office components. Position will be based out of a specific region; however, travel will be required occasionally to neighboring offices/corporate office/distant offices.
o Most travel will allow for same day visit; occasional travel will require overnight stay.
