Photography Lighting Technical Support Specialist

Westcott, a renowned global leader in photography and video lighting equipment, is seeking a skilled and dynamic Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing top-notch customer support, both remotely and in person, with a focus on the technical aspects of our products.

Job Duties

· Technical Support: Assist customers using Westcott equipment, with tasks including camera setup for optimal product performance, troubleshooting technical issues with products, and configuring work environments for photographers and filmmakers.

· Retail Support: Answer technical questions and provide product training to authorized Westcott retailers.

· Event Participation: Conduct in-person lighting classes (seminars/lectures), product training, and technical support at retail events nationwide.

· Trade Show Representation: Collaborate with retailers at national photography trade shows, engaging with potential customers through educational sessions, lead photo walks, and booth presentations.

· Content Creation: Develop educational materials for social media, capture video content, and hold in-person educational sessions at retail locations.

· Content Management: Update and maintain product FAQ content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

· Logistics Coordination: Organize and prepare gear for presentations, manage shipping/receiving, and communicate on-site demo needs to management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Photography Background: Education or 5 yrs. experience as a photographer, with a focus on lighting.

· Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30 days per year.

· Presentation: Comfortable presenting photo lighting education both to live audiences and on camera.

· Communication: Proficient in telephone and web chat, able to explain photography technical information clearly and effectively.

· Data Management: Collect and report product data using Microsoft Office applications.

· Writing: Capable of clear and effective written communication across various platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

· Technical troubleshooting

· Basic video editing experience

· Sales experience

Reporting Structure

Work closely with customer service, sales, and marketing departments. Directly report to the President, playing a key role in our team.
