Estimator/Project Manager

Responsibilities:

• Download bid invites, plans, specs, and create/organize folders. Review and analyze scope of work and project requirements for each job to ensure all requirements can be accommodated.
• Prepare bids by producing estimates for jobs in the planning and preconstruction stages. Analyze plans, specifications, scopes, bid documentation, and attend onsite walkthroughs for accurate bid preparation and submission.
• Perfoms and oversees detailed quantity take-offs.
• Solicits pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractors as needed.
• Attend all pre-construction meetings, post bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings.
• Develops Project Schedules
• Ability to produce submittal packages
• Responsible for filing / submitting of SWPPPs, Dig Safe Requests, and Permits.
• Oversees the delivery of materials to jobsites.
• Works with the foreman to plan, organize, and direct construction activities.
• Coordinate the scheduling of the suppliers and subcontractors with the Project Superintendents to ensure that construction occurs according to schedule and within budget.
• Maintain good communication with Owners, General Contractors, City, Town & State Officials, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Vendors, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related fields or 3 years field experience.
• Experience with estimating heavy civil projects such as excavation and utility projects, roads and bridges, and box culverts a plus.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and civil plans
• Be proficient with AutoCAD, GPS-Trimble, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project), Bluebeam, Adobe and other software used in the construction industry.
• Must have good record keeping skills, problem solving abilities, and communication skills; also, the ability to meet required deadlines and a keen attention to detail.
• Standard Driver’s License is required with reliable transportation.
