Job Posting for Estimator/Project Manager at F.L. Merrill Construction, Inc.
Responsibilities:
Download bid invites, plans, specs, and create/organize folders. Review and analyze scope of work and project requirements for each job to ensure all requirements can be accommodated.
Prepare bids by producing estimates for jobs in the planning and preconstruction stages. Analyze plans, specifications, scopes, bid documentation, and attend onsite walkthroughs for accurate bid preparation and submission.
Perfoms and oversees detailed quantity take-offs.
Solicits pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractors as needed.
Attend all pre-construction meetings, post bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings.
Develops Project Schedules
Ability to produce submittal packages
Responsible for filing / submitting of SWPPPs, Dig Safe Requests, and Permits.
Oversees the delivery of materials to jobsites.
Works with the foreman to plan, organize, and direct construction activities.
Coordinate the scheduling of the suppliers and subcontractors with the Project Superintendents to ensure that construction occurs according to schedule and within budget.
Maintain good communication with Owners, General Contractors, City, Town & State Officials, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Vendors, etc.

Qualifications:
Associate’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related fields or 3 years field experience.
Experience with estimating heavy civil projects such as excavation and utility projects, roads and bridges, and box culverts a plus.
Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and civil plans
Be proficient with AutoCAD, GPS-Trimble, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project), Bluebeam, Adobe and other software used in the construction industry.
Must have good record keeping skills, problem solving abilities, and communication skills; also, the ability to meet required deadlines and a keen attention to detail.
Standard Driver’s License is required with reliable transportation.
