CNC/Manual Band Saw Operator

Summary:

Set-up and operate CNC and manual band saw to cut, slot, groove, and trim metallic and nonmetallic workpieces according to job and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Selects and installs blades on machine, using hand tools and other equipment.
• Set controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tension.
• Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work piece, using hand tools and other devices
• Cut material according to blueprints, templates, sample parts, or specifications.
• Load or unload materials on and off manually or using lifting devices.
• Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
• Fill out job Traveler, time sheets, inspection documents and any other paperwork associated with the part.
• Check all material coming in for proper dimension and quantity.
• Organizing material by size and type onto material racks or bins.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
• Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled with a positive attitude.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

• Ability to use and read precision measuring equipment: calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work order instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Forklift certified and understands all safety rules and procedures in proper use of lifts.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of saw operations.
• Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast pace work environment to meet team expectations.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay: DOE

7:00am-3:30pm (M-F)
