What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Field Operations position at Fabcon Precast?
Purpose/Scope
The Manager of Field Operations must manage the installation and transportation of Fabcon products. They must do what is necessary to meet the customer’s expectations both for quality and delivery and overall completion of the project. Manage overall field activities to ensure a consistent quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness within the field operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess strengths/weaknesses within the field department, identifying and enacting corrective measures to improve quality, productivity and cost savings
- Development, implementation and oversight of field training programs and matrixes for all field personnel, promoting Safety, ISO and OSHA compliance
- Corporate liaison between Field Operations and other internal departments and management, including RVP’s and RM’s
- Organize and maintain proper crew staffing and structure on a global basis to meet workload, customer expectations and 10 & Out goals
- Determine corporate equipment needs, including coordination and accountability of vendors to reduce cost and maximize effectiveness and performance
- Assist with bidding and budgeting information as required
- Ensure approved work instructions, procedures and best practices are followed
- Look for new ways to improve quality, productivity and cost of all aspects of field operations
- Research and participate in the selection of new and existing crew home basis
- Oversee all field union issues to ensure compliance
- Maintain positive variances on all overhead accounts
- Other projects and duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three to Five (3-5) years of Management experience
- Experience in the construction industry or Field Operations
Physical Requirments
- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
- Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer
Work Enviornment
Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
