Our unique work schedule sets us apart - we operate Monday through Thursday, with four 10-hour workdays and no weekends! This schedule allows our team members to enjoy an extended weekend, fostering a healthier work-life balance.
What is a Laser Operator?
A laser operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting or engraving machines in various industrial settings. This role involves interpreting design specifications, setting up the laser equipment, and programming it to cut or engrave materials such as metal. Laser operators need to monitor the machine's performance, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and make adjustments to ensure precision and quality in the finished products. Attention to detail, knowledge of laser technology, and the ability to work with computer-aided design (CAD) software are crucial for success in this role.
In this role, you will:
Set up, operate and troubleshoot a laser
Read prints, work orders or production schedules
Use tools to ensure efficiency and correct operation of the machine
Use laser cutting and punching machines that make metal shapes and holes to fit other parts
Ensure production of all parts meet OI quality standards by utilizing internal quality processes and SOP.
Assist with material breakout and movement of parts to next production area when assigned
To succeed in this role, you must:
Accurately work with calipers, squares, gauges, protractors and other measuring tools
Have good math ability and problem solving skills
Read and interpret blueprints efficiently
Stand continuously and lift objects up to 50 pounds
Demonstrate safety in the laser operation process.
