PURPOSE: The Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician works as part of the team/crew of 2 that provides hood cleaning for systems that gather grease in the duct work and exhaust systems in businesses such as restaurants, schools, hotels, nursing homes, assisted living places, medical facilities and other establishments with commercial kitchens and cooking operations.
DUTIES:
• Drive to different customer locations to provide hood cleaning services in company provided vehicle which is fully equipped with tools, equipment and supplies required for the performance of the grease removal and cleaning.
- Power wash, scrape, and clean kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ducts, filters, exhaust fans etc.
• Set up and tear down all equipment at the job site, including hanging plastic sheeting, securing ladders, and wiping down stainless steel hoods, etc.
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as pressure washers, vacuums, high pressure hoses, air compressors, etc.
• Work efficiently as part of a team to assure the work can be completed during a specified window.
• Represent the company with excellent customer service by thorough communication with customers at all times.
• Maintain and immediately report any deficiencies to company or customer equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Travel in company vehicle is required 50% of the time to different cities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana & New Mexico, Much of the work is performed in facilities during hours when the facility is closed or the exhaust system is not in use and often performed at night, but the scheduled service can vary depending on customer needs. There is noise from machinery operation. There is exposure to oils, grease, heat, and steam from power cleaning equipment. Exposure to cleaning compounds could affect those with allergies to cleaning products.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: Must be able to read, write, hear, and speak. Sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and reaching are required daily. Must be able to lift, push, carry, pull, and store cleaning equipment such as commercial power washers and extension ladders that require exertion and weigh up to 75 to 100 lbs. Must be able to climb and work safely on different height ladders.
REQUIREMENTS: Enough education to read, write, speak and understand English and/or Spanish. Must have the ability to measure by volume. Must have physical strength and endurance. Must be able to follow specific instructions and procedures. Experience working as a laborer, janitorial, or other commercial cleaning position is helpful. A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is demonstrated. Background check must be satisfactory. Must have a valid driver's license to be able to drive any company vehicle. Must be able to pass drug screens.
