Position Overview :
We are looking for a QA / QC Specialist who is ambitious, a team-player, willing to learn, and whose passion is food in the ever-evolving manufacturing industry.
Main responsibilities will include ensuring quality and food safety standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, and supply items co-manufactured and co-packed by our suppliers through document verifications and periodic facility audits.
This includes developing a risk-based maintenance electronic and physical audit scheme in collaboration with the rest of the QA / QC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) team and working on projects to improve our safety and quality assessment process.
Responsibilities include :
- Responsible to lead the supplier approval program at Tasty Brands co-manufacturing and co-packaging facilities for compliance to QA / QC policies and standards.
- Work along-side multiple departments with all aspects of product roll-out and compliance checks including sourcing, production runs, facility safety, training, and materials.
- Planning, execution, and evaluation of projects while maintaining food safety and regulatory requirements specific to the menu development.
- Support product development ideations for individual brand tastings.
- Define safety compliance markers for new and / or existing products though laboratory resources (shelf life, micro analysis markers, storage guidelines, etc.).
- Responsible for resolution of technical safety issues and complaint / comment feedback that arise during the development, production, handling, or product performance.
- Document audit report in a timely fashion and be responsible for follow up to drive risk reduction.
- Partner with QA / QC to define programs and strategies to reduce risks with products.
Skills Required :
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in food production and processing; thorough knowledge of food safety standards, HAACP, and Serve Safe Certification;

basic culinary knowledge related to equipment and technical skills
- Auditing / consulting experience or familiar with these processes (Department of Health audits, FSSC, AIB, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with proven ability to influence and drive constructive change across multiple organizations / multiple levels
- Strong bias for action, ability to see opportunities / risks early and take appropriate actions
- Highly organized and self-motivated. Passion for auditing.
- Ability to work independently and to travel up to 40% of the time (Nation-wide)
- Understanding of production equipment and processing services
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
