Job Summary/Overview
The Product Tester tests the function of basic electronic panels, assemblies, components, and parts, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications and company quality standards, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Product Testers in the Material Handling business unit will have working knowledge and skills in Radio and Controls testing procedures and processes. Product Testers of the Elevator business unit will have knowledge of Elevator, Mining, and Renewable Energy testing procedures and processes.

Requires one year of college coursework in electronics; or a high school diploma or equivalent and three plus years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Examine and test control products, components, and standard panels, drives, motors, wires, etc. for flaws, in a timely and accurate manner, before a product is forwarded to shipping. Examine, inspect, and test radio control products, component drives, standard panels, circuit boards, motors, and other components timely and accurate.
- Perform and complete a final inspection of the product and prep work prior to sending a product to shipping or stock.
- Perform assembly and testing of motors, brakes, encoders, and fiber optic cables and components.
- Identify any defective units through reading and interpreting instruments, compare instrument reading or monitor display with standard schematics and specifications, etc. Reject defective units and record the type and quantity of defect.
- Connect electronic assembly, component, or part to test instrument, or to computerized test equipment, and activate test equipment.
- Demonstrates “out-of-the-box” thinking & creativity.
- Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines.
- Ability to operate a variety of testing equipment and hand tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, sinadder, spectrum analyzers, and soldering equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
- Requires the ability to operate a variety of testing equipment and hand tools.
