Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic self-starter who understands what it means to work in partnership with community to identify and elevate smart solutions to tough policy problems. This role will work closely with Fahe’s advocacy team:
- Helping to lead state level coalitions in developing targeted advocacy campaigns
- Supporting our regional and state efforts to close the digital divide, and
- Assisting in the planning and execution of some upcoming events that will connect our members to decision makers in the national policy landscape of rural America.
The right person will be a team player, exceptional facilitator, communicator, researcher and writer who enjoys translating big ideas into tangible solutions and strategies.

Requirements for this position include:
- Passion for community development and systems change to ensure no American is left behind in pursuit of the American dream.
- Self-starter who is able to work independently to achieve programmatic goals.
- A team player – able to work productively with both an internal team and external coalition partners.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience facilitating groups to achieve consensus or shared understanding of a topic or strategy.
- Comfort navigating a dynamic work day- the activities, duties and outputs will vary day to day and week to week. Similarly, the types of campaigns or activities this individual will manage will vary state by state
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
- Knowledge or direct experience in community led policy advocacy
- Must have drivers license and ability to use own car (with reimbursement) or old enough to rent a vehicle for regional travel.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- This position is an ideal fit for someone who has experience in community organizing or campaigns.
- BA is preferred but not required, particularly if candidate has strong work history in community organizing or advocacy
